COOKIE USE AND MANAGEMENT POLICY
What are cookies?
Cookies are very small text files that a website can use by storing them on your device. The purpose of cookies is to "remember" your device, store your actions and preferences, and enable your device to be recognised when you subsequently visit https://nik.group. Cookies are all files that collect and store such information.
The term "cookies" in this policy covers not only traditional HTTP cookies, but also all other similar technologies for tracking and storing information on your device or for accessing information stored on it. This includes, but is not limited to, pixel tags, web beacons, local storage, URL tracking, IP address tracking, and unique identifiers that allow the collection of data about your behaviour and interaction with the website. Under Regulation (EU) 2023/2854 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 December 2023 (Data Act), certain cookies may collect metadata necessary for the provision of data processing services and to ensure the portability of information. When you visit the website, you will be asked to accept or decline cookies.
How do we use cookies?
Cookies are used for various purposes. They help us to better tailor content to your interests, monitor website traffic, ensure you get maximum functionality, and more.
When you first visit the website, we will ask for your consent to use all cookies, except those that are strictly necessary. We use a Consent Management Platform (CMP) that allows you to give your consent for each category of cookies separately. Your consent must be freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous, through a clear affirmative action (e.g. clicking on the "Accept all" button or ticking individual categories). You have the right to refuse or withdraw your consent at any time, just as easily as you gave it, without this leading to any adverse consequences for you. We bear the burden of proving that your consent has been validly obtained.
We use cookies and other tracking technologies for various purposes, which we have categorised as follows for clarity:
- Necessary (functional) cookies
These are cookies without which the website cannot function normally. They are used only by us and are therefore called first-party cookies. They enable navigation between pages, facilitate form filling, ensure the security of the site and remember your decision regarding the use of cookies. These cookies are usually session cookies and are deleted when you close your browser.
- Statistical cookies (for analysis)
These types of cookies help us improve our website by collecting aggregated information about how users use it – for example, the number of visitors, the most viewed pages, time spent on the site, type of device, etc. They allow us to make our web pages more accessible and user-friendly. For this purpose, we use the following third-party tools:
- Google Analytics
Uses a set of cookies to collect information and report statistics on the use of the site without identifying individual visitors. Data is collected on user ID, approximate geographical information, behavioural information and technology used, which is extracted from the user's Google profile. This statistical information is stored for a period of 26 months.
- Salesforce Tracking Code
Collects visitor data, such as IP addresses and website activity, for the purpose of monitoring traffic and tracking user interaction with our services. The data is stored until it is explicitly deleted.
- Hotjar
We use Hotjar to obtain information about user behaviour (e.g. clicks, scrolling) in order to improve the structure and functionality of the website.
- Marketing cookies
These cookies help us and our partners determine which online advertisements would be most relevant to you based on the pages you visit. They track the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and allow us to connect with other technologies to improve the automatic selection of relevant services and products. For this purpose, we use:
- Meta Pixel
Part of our website code that helps us measure the effectiveness of our ads on Meta platforms (Facebook, Instagram) and understand the actions users take (pages visited, button clicks, forms filled out). The information is stored for a period of 365 days, without Meta disclosing personal data about specific users to us.
- Google Tag Manager
This technology allows us to organise and manage the ways in which various tracking codes and cookies (tags) are placed and used on our website.
When using third-party cookies, data processing is carried out by the respective service providers. You can manage your consent to the use of different categories of cookies at any time through the settings on our website.
What data do we collect through our cookies?
When we use our cookies, in some cases we or third parties receive the IP address of the device you use when you visit the website. At https://nik.group, we use the IP address, device number, operating system, internet service provider, time of visit, referral URL, and location data relative to the device used to ensure the functionality of the website, for security purposes, and to perform diagnostics. In some cases, third parties, namely the companies offering the software solutions listed above, may collect personal data that users voluntarily provide when filling out online forms in order to use the services offered by the website. This data may also include metadata necessary for the functioning of your connected services and to facilitate data portability in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/2854 (Data Act). In these cases, they are responsible for the processing.
In addition to the general rules on personal data protection, we also comply with the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2023/2854 (Data Act), which applies from 12 September 2025. This Regulation regulates the access to and use of data generated by connected products and services, which may also include metadata collected through cookies and other tracking technologies.
How can you control cookies?
